They glitter like diamonds under sun,
Shine brighter than any star.
Their deep blue richer than any jewel
And the crystal of the earth cannot compare
With her eyes...the windows to her heart.
Once filled with rays of hope
That brightened up any room,
Now losing signs of life and love...
They die inside while preserving
An outward semblance of life.
This perfection needed...an escape from the ugly
And a path away from the mundane.
Truly beautiful from creation
Now still hold my attention even as they die
And lose their sparkle...hollow
As the dove's call in the night
As it is shot down unexpectedly.
This shuttering when read....
Eyes that provoke one to emotions unknown
Before a glance shattered illusions of reality.
One can get lost in the misery
And cry for help that I see in her eyes.
